From Strategy to Delivery: Building Sport on the Ground in Saudi Arabia
Two athletes faced Anti‑Doping Rule Violations processes (ADRV)
Edition 5 shows why systems, governance, compliance and processes are critical to delivery, healthy environments, athlete safeguarding and long‑term performance.
1. Anti Doping and System Pressure
Edition 5 begins with the anti doping cases because they show the system under real pressure. Two athletes were subject to active Anti Doping Rule Violation processes. I built governance, reconstructed evidence internally, externally, and across agencies, coordinated with UKAD, FA Anti Doping and international bodies and secured two retrospective TUE approvals with conditions.
These cases show how systems behave when stressed and how capability is built through calm, precise, regulatory grade work.
I also provide examples of Saudi and MENA capability in delivering regulatory grade anti doping governance. They show how compliance, education and medical readiness are built within national systems.
2. Participation Environments and Early Pathways
From there, the edition moves into participation environments that form the foundation of healthier athlete pathways. It shows how Saudi Arabia’s Sports for All initiatives create accessible, structured and safe spaces that connect community sport to national pathways.
3. Mental Health Foundations and Psychological Readiness
Moving into mental health foundations and psychological capability. It demonstrates how early participation and mental health systems build coping skills, confidence and emotional regulation long before athletes enter structured training and competition. These foundations create psychological readiness, the ability to manage pressure, adapt to challenge and sustain performance.
4. Integrated Psychological Ecosystem in Saudi Arabia
Next, I explore the integrated psychological ecosystem in Saudi Arabia. Sport psychologists and clinical psychologists work within daily performance environments, supporting life on and off the field.
Saudi led psychological systems are developing, shaped by national thought leadership and culturally grounded models that connect identity, motivation and practice to local reality.
5. Delivery Capability and Operational Systems
This turns to delivery capability, the operational layer that makes strategy deliverable. It examines how information moves through environments, how decisions are made under time pressure and how medical and performance teams integrate. It shows how governance, compliance and process maturity protect athletes and organisations under pressure.
6. Scaling Delivery Across Systems
Finally, I build and scale the work. Delivery capability must become repeatable, embedded and nationally coherent.
The next phase is embedding these principles across national systems, so that delivery capability becomes sustainable and system wide.
